The Parish Council has set about preparing a Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish area.
This will give people who live in the Parish the opportunity to shape the future of Highcliffe & Walkford. It gives the community the ability to decide
We are privileged to live in one of the most attractive parts of Dorset; the Coastline and New Forest are on our ‘doorstep’.
The Parish area extends from Chewton Bunny, Chewton Farm Road in the east to Sainsbury’s, Stewarts Garden Centre in the west and from the railway line in the north to the coastline in the south.
The Neighbourhood Plan will enable people who live in the Parish to shape the future of our area. The Plan will need to go through a number of stages before it can be adopted and when adopted it will be the Vision for Highcliffe & Walkford for up to 10 years with a review at the fifth year. A key part of this process will be engaging and gaining residents feedback to understand how we all see the future in Planning terms.

The Parish Council ‘signed-off’ the Neighbourhood Plan at it’s monthly meeting on 26th May 2021. The ‘Plan’ was submitted to BCP Council on 9th June 2021 and in due course it will be Examined by an Independent Assessor and thereafter, subject to any further amendments, will be subject to a residents Referendum living in the Parish area before it can be completed as a ‘Made Plan’.
